As the first woman to now hold a position of Professor of Computer Science at Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly just Pune University), I have been teaching at Modern Education Society’s Nowrosjee Wadia College since 1988. I am now the head of the Computer Science Department since 2023. I have also been adjunct faculty with the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, since 2004 and visiting faculty with Department of Mathematics at SPPU since 2018

Throughout my career, I have been committed to learning as much as I have been focused on teaching. Awarded a Doctorate in Computer Science in October 2017, I have now this alphabet soup trailing my name – M.Sc., A.D.C.S.S.A.A., M.Phil.(IT), PhD.(Computer Science), UGC-NET.

Having handled more than a quarter century of students that pass through my department and my classes, I have always striven to inspire and engage the next generation of computer scientists through dynamic teaching methods and hands-on learning experiences, growing my understanding of Computer Science as it has evolved over this period.

In addition to teaching, I have led research collaborations, published text books, and participated in projects aimed at current and pressing needs in Computer Science.
